DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting Dec. 18 at Von Maur on Ashford Dunwoody Road. A man and a woman were seen entering the store with an empty H&M bag, then proceeded to place a pair of Adidas sweatpants into the bag before attempting to leave the store. They passed all points of sale and entered an elevator with the merchandise. Loss prevention officers stopped them at the south entrance of the mall.

When police arrived, the two suspects were read their Miranda Warning before the man requested to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights. When asked about their actions, the two explained that they enjoyed the adrenaline rush from shoplifting. They were advised from a friend at school to shoplift.

The suspects were transported to DeKalb County Jail without incident. The total value of the merchandise was $50. Both suspects were issued official citations.
