DUNWOODY, Ga. — The Dunwoody Nature Center will host its 26th annual Butterfly Festival from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Aug. 17.

Last year almost 4,000 people attended the festival, which has become a signature event for the community.

This year’s festival will take place on the 22-acre campus of the nature center and feature three butterfly tents housing hundreds of live butterflies. Guests will be entertained with games, nature-based crafts, animal encounters, music and discovery stations throughout the park.

On-site concessions will be available.

The nature center recommends visitors pre-purchase timed entry admission to the butterfly tents via the nature center’s website at dunwoodynature.org/2019-butterfly-festival

Pre-purchase admission is $10 for adults and $5 for ages 4-12. Tickets the day of the festival are $12 for adults and $6 for children. Ages 3 and under are free.

Capacity for the butterfly tents is limited and once all of the entry times for the tents are allotted, admission will be for the festival grounds only.

Off-site parking and shuttle service will be available throughout the day. Guests can park for free at the North Atlanta Church of Christ on Roberts Drive.

The festival will feature exclusive early admission for members beginning at 9 a.m. If you are interested in volunteering at the event, please visit dunwoodynature.org.

The festival is presented by Cox Enterprises.
