Matthew Desoutter of Dunwoody is one of eight high school seniors to win the Stamps Scholarship to attend Wake Forest University in the fall.

The four-year scholarship is one of the most selective in the nation. Each winner receives an annual stipend covering the costs of tuition, room, board and personal expenses plus grant opportunities for summer research, travel and international study.

Stamps Scholars are typically at the top one percent of their class and are chosen for their unusual distinction in the classroom and their exceptional civic leadership potential. The Stamps Scholarship was established in 2012 at Wake Forest by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation.

Desoutter, the son of Nick Desoutter and Lori Desoutter, graduated from Dunwoody High School.
