DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police arrested a burglary suspect near Perimeter Mall on Ashford Dunwoody Road the afternoon of Jan. 27.
Carlos Rernard Taylor, 29, of Atlanta, was charged with disorderly conduct following a short foot chase. An officer patrolling the mall spotted a Buick Lucerne in the parking lot that matched the description of a vehicle spotted in the vicinity of a recent burglary at the mall. During that incident, gunshots were fired into the shopping plaza, according to police. The arrest report did not specify when the burglary occurred.
The officer noticed Taylor staring at him from across the parking lot as the Buick was being towed. When the officer approached him, the suspect took off running. He surrendered after a short pursuit.
Arresting officers found the key to the Buick in his pocket. They took Taylor to the police department so detectives could question him about the prior mall burglary.
