DUNWOODY, Ga. — Dunwoody High School fencers have been consistent medal winners from the start of the Georgia High School Fencing League’s 2019-2020 season. 

The Round 4 tournament was held at Roswell High School Nov. 2, and bronze was earned in both the men’s and women’s divisions by Sam James and Josie James.

The team remains a powerhouse as DHS was represented once again by 11 fencers finishing in the top 16 of the men’s and women’s: Sam James, Josie James, Gareth Payne, Megan Murphy, Jeff Berkowitz, Sara Gelber, Logan Norris, Honoka Miura, Blake Donovan, Hannah Soderberg, and Jonathan Kopel.

In the league, the Dunwoody women stepped into second place, while the men jumped to sixth. 

Those outdoing their previous performances in the league so far this season were Marc-Alexander Barbe, Jeff Berkowitz, Reece Gallagher, Joseph Miller, Henry O’Connor, Sara Gelber, Honoka Miura, Lily Ragals and Sydney Rosenfeld.
