DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police responded to a fraudulent purchase Dec. 22 at Walgreens on Chamblee-Dunwoody Road. Police say two men entered the store and attempted to buy gift cards with fraudulent coupons on their phones. An employee said she became aware of the scam as she was scanning the fake coupons. Each suspect attempted to purchase two cards valued at $100 each. Once their phones were scanned, she told the men that she could not provide them with the gift cards because the coupons were not valid. The suspects quickly left the store.
Authorities notified the employee that the same men were seen trying to use the same false coupons at another nearby Walgreens location. An official report was filed for the incident.
