DUNWOODY, Ga. — A woman arrived at Dunwoody Police headquarters Aug. 27 to report an identity theft. Several unauthorized credit accounts had been created in her name, each with multiple fraudulent charges.

She said she first received a notification Aug. 23 stating that charges were made to her Old Navy store credit card at GAP located inside Perimeter Mall. She then received an email from Experian credit monitoring services notifying her of numerous charges placed on her credit report. Upon investigation, she found multiple store credit cards opened in her name at Macy’s and Victoria’s Secret. The total charges at these stores was $1,650. She spoke with the stores to cancel the cards and revoke the charges.
