DUNWOODY, Ga. — Officers responded to a call June 9 of a man believed dead inside his car at Walmart on Ashford Dunwoody Road.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found a black male inside a gold Toyota Avalon unconscious and unresponsive. Medical staff examined the body while the officer interviewed those who called for information.

Two female witnesses reported they saw the man walking out of the store and into his vehicle as they were entering. When they exited the store, they said they noticed he was still in his vehicle in the same position. After knocking on the window resulted in no response, they opened the car door and his arm and leg fell limp to the side. The two women immediately called 911 while a nurse who was nearby checked for a pulse.

The nurse informed medical personnel as they arrived that she was unable to find a pulse. The man was transported to Northside Hospital where he was pronounced deceased from cardiac arrest. An officer located the deceased man’s wife and transported her to the hospital.
