North Springs renews charter

Posted: Tuesday, June 12, 2012 2:08 pm

Less than 24 hours before North Springs Charter High School’s Class of 2012 graduated, Governance Board chair Jan Rowell (R) and principal Dr. Lisa Stueve, officially signed the school’s new charter contract which will offer new opportunities to future graduates in the class of 2016 as well as next year’s 10th through 12th grade students.

The new charter takes effect with the 2012-13 school year and will offer students the choice of four academies, smaller learning communities focused around specific academic and career interests.

The academies offered will be in Career and Technical Education, the Humanities (language arts, social studies and world languages), Math and Science, and Visual and Performing Arts. Each Academy will offer three diploma options of increasing rigor.
