Boy Scout Troop 317, chartered to Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, announced that Harrison W. Statham, son of Tom and Cathy Statham of Dunwoody, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Statham successfully completed his Eagle Board of Review on June 28, making him the 36th Eagle Scout from Troop 317 since it was chartered to Perimeter in 2003.

His Eagle Scout project consisted of leading a team in designing, building, and installing six outdoor fitness stations along the Nature Trail located on the campus of Perimeter Church. The project benefited the Sports and Campus Outreach Ministry of Perimeter Church which is situated on a 100-acre site at the corner of Old Alabama Road and Highway 141 in Johns Creek. The six workout stations included push ups, sit ups, dips, abdominal crunches/sit and reach, pull ups, and quadricep stretches.

Statham joined Troop 317 in September 2005 after completing his Cub Scout career with Pack 764 at St. Luke’s Presbyterian in Dunwoody. He was an active member of Troop 317, participating in many of the outdoor activities and service projects, including Summer Camp at Woodruff Scout Reservation in Blairsville.

On his journey to Eagle Scout, Harrison earned 23 merit badges and held many troop leadership positions including patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, troop guide, instructor, librarian, and web master.

Harrison is a recent graduate of Dunwoody High School where he participated in the dual enrollment program at Georgia Perimeter College earning 31 college credit hours. In the fall he will attend Georgia College and State University where he plans on studying accounting and finance.
